Everybody learns, everybody cares

Geometry, Geology and... Soup!

In Maths, after practising our place value skills, we have applied them to help us solve addition and subtraction problems. We have loved working together, taking turns when playing addition and subtraction games too! We’ve also started learning geometry! We can now describe and sort 2D shapes. We have learnt how many vertices they have and what makes a polygon.

In Literacy, we have been looking at ‘Traction man’. He has had many different adventures, but our favourite was when he lost his friend scrubbing brush and how Turbo dog tried to help too! We wrote our own stories and even planned an advert for ‘Germo Super Cleaner’.

In Science we have continued learning about different rocks and soils. We made our own fossils and took prints from them to see the imprint that was left. We have also identified the different layers in soil and investigated the different sizes of rocks in the different layers. Bedrock was the hardest layer!

We gave out thanks to our armed forces on Remembrance day, and made Lego models as part of our weekly Lego Therapy sessions…#wewillrememberthem

Class 8 Aut 2 24

We have been very enterprising this half term and have made and sold soup to raise funds for our trip to The Centre for Life. When we tasted it, we thought it was delicious! We have even made and sold Christmas crafts too. How creative we are!

We have ended our half term with a fabulous trip to see the Christmas lights in Newcastle. We travelled there on the Metro and enjoyed seeing all the different colours. We were all amazed that Fenwick’s windows were the 12 Days of Christmas! Some of us even sang the song while we were moving along the line to see them.

What adventures will have next half term we wonder?
