Dragons, Robots & Money - Oh My!
Great with Geography
We have spent time looking at the different countries which make up the United Kingdom, finding capital cities and looking at features and landmarks such as buildings and the Angel of the North. We compared life in Gateshead with life in a small village called Hilton in Scotland.
Brilliant Bee-Bot
In our computing work, we created algorithms and helped bee-bot to make its way around a course on the classroom floor. Every single move had to be programmed: it was not an easy task to get the robot to the finish line!
Gymnastic fun
In our PE lessons, we were joined by a coach who helped us to put together some fabulous routines using movement and balance. Ms Nicol was very impressed by our work!
Dragon Post
Our writing work has focused upon a lovely book called Dragon Post. We are writing our own stories about a boy who finds a dragon in his house and has to take care of it. Look out for a copy coming home next half term!
Marvellous with money… and multiplication!
In maths, we have been adding and subtracting with money. We also learned how to multiply and even to divide. These are new skills which we worked very hard on. They even help us with work in fractions too!
Printing patterns
Our artwork has been about making prints of animals and natural landscapes. Inspired by a Botswanan artist, we have created some stunning artwork using our own pictures to duplicate them by printing on carbon paper.
